Product Description
Solid Control System – Complete Drilling Fluid Processing for Oil & Gas Operations
Product Overview
A solid control system is a comprehensive equipment package used in oil and gas drilling to maintain the properties of drilling fluid (mud). Also known as a mud circulation system, it removes drilled cuttings and gas from the fluid so it can be recirculated back into the wellbore-.
Without effective solids control, drilled solids accumulate in the mud, increasing viscosity, reducing rate of penetration (ROP), and causing wear on pumps and downhole tools. A properly designed system extends mud life, reduces waste, lowers operating costs, and improves overall drilling performance-.
Our solid control systems are designed and manufactured in compliance with API RP 13C and HSE specifications, suitable for oil-based, water-based, and synthetic-based drilling fluids. They are available for rigs from 250 HP to 3,000 HP, supporting drilling depths from 500 m to 9,000 m.
Core Functions
The system performs five essential functions:
Purification – Removes solids and gas from drilling fluid
Circulation – Continuously moves fluid through the wellbore and surface equipment
Mixing – Blends additives to maintain desired mud properties
Storage – Holds treated mud in tanks for immediate use
Measurement – Monitors fluid volume, density, and rheological properties
Main Equipment – Five-Stage Purification
A complete solid control system typically includes five stages of purification equipment:
|

Tank Configurations
Mud tanks are available in multiple configurations:
Tank bottom types – Square bottom, round bottom, or tapered bottom
Carrier types – General (skid-mounted), trailer-mounted, or self-propelled
Modular design – Systems consist of 3 to 7 modular composite tank bodies
Applications
Our solid control systems are suitable for:
Conventional drilling rigs – Land-based oil and gas exploration
Workover rigs – Well intervention and maintenance operations
Cluster well rigs – Multi-well pad drilling
Helicopter-lift drilling rigs – Remote and inaccessible locations
Offshore platforms – Marine drilling and workover operations
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) – Pipeline and utility installation
A properly designed solid control system is essential for efficient, safe, and cost-effective drilling operations. Our systems feature five-stage purification, API RP 13C compliance, modular tank design, and scalable configurations for rigs from 500 m to 9,000 m depth.
