Impact Resistant Oilfield Wellhead Equipment Lifting Ring & Elevator Link Pipe String Handling

The lifting ring (also known as elevator link or bail) is a wellhead tool used to raise and lower the pipe string during drilling and workover operations. It connects the main hook (or auxiliary hooks) to the elevator. The upper ring attaches to the auxiliary hooks on either side of the main hook, and the lower ring attaches to the side ears of the elevator.

A good lifting ring must have:

The connection dimensions of the lifting ring (to both the elevator and the hook) conform to standard SY/T 5288 (equivalent to API specifications).

There are two main types:

Note: “Double-arm” means two separate links (one per side) – not a single link with two arms. The term “double-arm ring” is sometimes used interchangeably with “pair of links.”

Double-arm rings – Forged and welded from high-quality alloy steel. Carefully heat-treated for optimal hardness and toughness.

Surface treatment – All rings receive a protective finish to resist corrosion and wear in harsh oilfield environments.

Heat treatment – Precise thermal processing ensures the right balance between strength (to avoid stretching) and impact toughness (to avoid cracking).

Technical Specifications & Available Sizes

Note:

SH series – Typically single-arm links for lighter loads.

DH series – Heavy-duty single-arm links for larger capacities.

Length is measured from the top of the upper ring eye to the bottom of the lower ring eye.

Double-arm links (pairs) are available up to 135 tons – please contact us for specific dimensions.

All lifting rings meet the interface requirements of SY/T 5288, ensuring compatibility with standard elevators and hooks.
